Profile Pixel Rock Light Review

When it comes to picking the best of the best of LED rock lights, the Profile Pixel Rock Light is the king. Nothing beats it in light output, build quality, wiring, and control.

We tested these lights by looking at five performance and quality components to ensure you can buy with confidence. How accessible and convenient is the mounting? Is the wiring easy to do? Do you have any control over the lights? How is the color and how many colors are there? How is the brightness? Today we answer all these questions for you.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

The range of components that come with the Profile Pixel LED Rock Lights are not as diverse as that of the Rigid Industries set we have discussed. A magnet mount and a few screws come with it to use.

Essentially, you will have two ways of mounting the light, one with a magnet that requires one screw per light and one with the mounting tabs. The latter of which requires two screws per light.

MOUNTING

The Profile Pixels have the best mounting solution we have ever seen. Not only do they have these sturdy and low-profile metal mounting tabs on either side, but they also have magnetized mounts. The magnets utilize the screw in the center of the light to hold the magnet in place.

These magnets are incredibly strong and will work perfectly with any steel component in your wheel well.

If the magnets are not your thing, there are two stock mounting points with accompanying screws on each.

WIRING

As for the wiring, these LED Rock Lights are second to none. The connectors are great, and the wiring just makes sense. Built on a modular system, you are able to add length to the wires if you somehow do not have enough with their supplied wires.

If you have the RGB version of the light, it comes with a four-pin connector that goes to a splitter connected to the Bluetooth app. The connection is waterproof and features a keyway to ensure they plug in correctly. Each of the splitters are designed to handle up to four rock lights, allowing for you to have a total of 16 rock lights operating at once.

The single-color system, it has very long, high-quality cables that come out of the side of the rock light. There are two bare wires that can then be used to hook it up. This system is less advanced than its RGB counterpart for sure, but not the most difficult thing to deal with.

CONTROL

The level of control you have over Profile Pixel is amazing. It all starts with this Morimoto XBT Bluetooth Controller. A power wire and three different channels with split outputs to accomplish a few different tasks.

You mount this in a waterproof area and the JST connectors will go to the splitters. The splitters will then connect to each of your rock lights. As we mentioned before, each splitter can control four LED rock lights each, allowing a total of 16 RGB LED light accessories to be connected.

COLOR AND COLOR OPTIONS

Once you have all the lights connected, download the app (Google Play and Apple) and you will have a world of color at your fingertips. With the RGB system, you can infinitely change the color of your rock lights across an RGB space.

Just because you have an infinite range of colors to choose from with the RGB system, does not mean you will lose out on performance. Profile Pixel utilizes actual color LED chips instead of colored lenses. This applies to both the RGB model and the single-color versions.

The light output is fantastic, and the circular pattern helps to give a wide beam pattern to the light. If you are using these as wheel lights, one of them will do.
