Never hit the trails or the open road in your 2019-2022 Jeep Wrangler JL/JT without some quality headlights. With so many options out there it can be hard to pick the right set. To make ease of your time, we have done our research so that you can find the best fit for your rig. Bellow, we have put to the test the best and worst 7-inch round headlights for your Jeep to elevate your lighting game on those mountain roads.
There are so many options out there for 7-inch round headlights on Jeep Wranglers. Before choosing a set to put on your Jeep, we need to look at the good and the bad of the stock headlights. While the stock components can work perfectly fine, there will always be room for improvement.
For any Jeep Wrangler or Gladiator that uses sealed beam headlights, their maximum Lux comes in at 510 on a low beam. This is illustrated in the image below and while it does its job, aftermarket options leave much more to be desired.
Keep in mind that some headlights are brighter than others, and some headlights have different beam patterns. If your headlight looks like this one, you will see that many of the aftermarket options you see here best the stock components in a number of ways. To use any of these headlights on a JL or JT Jeep, you will need a headlight adapter. This is because the JL and JT have a 9" headlight housing. For more information, check out our video here.
If you have a Jeep with 7-inch round headlights, you are going to be seeing something like this light, that produces about 510 maximum Lux. It has that defined hot spot and more width than the old school headlight, but we can still do better. One of its biggest shortcomings is that the high beams are not a whole lot brighter than the low beams; only an 80 maximum Lux with an added beam pattern height.

While they get the job done, the factory headlights leave a little to be desired. Thankfully, we have a whole host of glorious, and not so glorious offerings from the aftermarket.
Earlier this year, Morimoto upgraded their LED projector, the MLED 2.0, to the Super 7. So now this thing is better and brighter than before.
The Super 7 reigns supreme with its modular design and wealth of customization options. This model stood to the challenge in our rigorous tests. The downside, it doesn't fit in most applications outside of a Jeep Wrangler or a Jeep Gladiator. However, because this headlight is tailored for the Jeep market you know you are buying a good fit.
The Super 7 has a massive LED projector with this cool, customizable passive heat sink that allows you to create large amounts of light on your seven-inch round project. If you wanted a textbook example of a perfect headlight beam pattern, you are looking at it.

There is also the tried and true gold standard JW Speaker 8700 Evo 2. This model fits almost everything you put it in, all while boasting excellent performance and reliability.

Next on the list is the Movotor Halo. The sharp 'U' shape of the daytime running (DLR) may be enticing, but this set's low beam comes in at 160 maximum lux. That's 40 Lux less than the old-school seal beam headlight, not to mention the beam pattern is worthless. When you flip it to a high beam, sure, you get 690 maximum lux, but it's a garbage headlight. This beam pattern is unusable.
While its daytime appearance may be striking, the beam pattern, mixed with the less than desirable low beam Lux maximum, leaves much to be desired. Even taking into account the 690 maximum Lux for the high beams, the Movotor Halo does not make the cut.
These are an absolute NO GO. Please do not purchase these if you would like to see anything at night.
Plagiarism may be the most sincere form of flattery, but Quake's LED is just a blatant rip-off of JW Speaker. Unfortunately for Quake, they did not do the extra credit and build a sub-par product. This headlight is terrible! While Quake LED seems like a pretty notable brand, it is a wonder why anyone would want these on their ride.
This Quake LED headlight only comes in at 230 maximum Lux. That's awful, and why is the beam so blue? This headlight is definitely a danger to drive with. When you flip it to a high beam, it only goes up to 490 maximum Lux. That does not even compete with the stock headlights. Putting your money into the garbage and wearing blue sunglasses will give you the same effect. Did I mention how blue the projector is?
Another one for the garbage. This JW Speaker look-alike is no performer. SAD! Do not put these on your Jeep at all.
Coming in at only 140 maximum Lux, this is one of the worst-performing headlights in the world. When you go to high beam, it is 710 maximum Lux, which is a huge jump. but that's still not very good. It's barely over the stock headlight maximum Lux and the low beams can not compete. Since you will most likely be running your low beams 90% of the time we can not recommend not using these enough. This headlight should be banned from the USA.
Unfortunately, I forgot to put my name on the ballot so no one voted for me. On the other hand, since I can not ban this sorry excuse for a headlight, the least I could do was give them a proper send-off.
Nothing is (S)up with these Sup-Light LEDs. DO NOT buy these lights at all. Seriously.
I have been a massive fan of the KC Hi-Lites Gravity series of LED headlights ever since they came out. When I had my Jeep, this is what I had on it and it was one of the best performing drivable headlights I have ever seen.
There are two solid options from KC Headlights. Firstly, you have the KC highlights Gravity Pro, which uses a projector, and you've got the regular KC Highlights Gravity LED Reflector headlight.
The Pro boasts a 610 maximum Lux for the low beams, 100 more than stock, and ups the game with a 1300 maximum Lux high beam.
If you are looking for something with more depth, the KC highlights Gravity Pro is the one to go with. Either way, you can not go wrong.
KC HiLites is just one of those brands that never misses. We highly recommend these Gravity Projector headlights if you are looking for something with a bit more depth.
The KC Highlights Gravity LED Reflector headlights are not playing any games either, with a 700 maximum Lux low beam and 1130 maximum Lux high beam. It also boasts a great beam pattern, not too dissimilar from the Projector headlight.
If brightness is the name of your game and you are willing to sacrifice some depth, these KC HiLites Gravity Reflector headlights are for you. Grab a pair here!
Back in the day, Truck-Lite invented the world's first LED sealed beam headlight for military use. Then, they came out with the 27270c headlight from Truck-Lite. After years of testing, it has the best and brightest high beam that you can find on the market today.
We can not praise this light enough. The Truck-Lite is a textbook example of what a reflector LED headlight beam pattern should look like. Yes, most of the brightness is concentrated into that little square hotspot right in the middle at the top of the beam. That is good because it will produce a massive amount of downrange lighting at hundreds of feet in front of your vehicle. Meaning you can see further down the road a lot easier and does not blind oncoming cars.
With its excellent beam pattern and incredible light output, you really can not go wrong with these. You can find the Truck-Lite LED headlights here!
The Morimoto Sealed 7 is one of our favorites because it has arguably the perfect beam pattern. It may not be the brightest headlight, but the competitors do not all fit the same as this headlight does. It is a great option for pretty much any application.
The low beam looks fantastic. It has a super-wide projector shape with a sharp cut off and all of the light is focused in that top band of light. Some headlights can give you an odd shape or pattern, but the Sealed 7 offers a clean-cut shape.
This is just a perfect beam pattern with light in all the right places. With a beam pattern like this, you're much safer driving at night compared to some of the other options out there. Not to mention that these are fairly affordable compared to other options. It is a great package. If you're buying headlights for a loved one, and you want a headlight that doesn't break the bank, you're looking at it.

The VX series headlight from Vision X is an interesting option because these guys make light bars, and they took that same iris technology out of their XPR light bars and put it in the high beam. This headlight is very popular in the Harley and Jeep communities.
If you're a fan of beam patterns that do not have a sharp cutoff, typically reflector-based lights, then this is a great option. It is also important to mention that the low beam comes in at 1140 maximum Lux and then boosts its way to 1810 maximum Lux when paired with the High 4 Adapter. This can be toggled on and off.

This headlight from Razor Off-Road has a unique look because it's got that great big accent light built into the face of it, but how good can the beam pattern be with all that decoration.
The Razor-Off Road may compete with the stock beams, but it loses all of its points once you turn them on. The 530 maximum Lux is modest but falls apart with its clustered beam pattern. The same goes for the high beams that do not go much higher than the lows, at 470 maximum Lux. The high beam pattern is even worse than the lows. It almost gives the effect of a shower or those beaded curtains your uncle had in college.
Sometimes endings are not always great. Especially with the case of the last item on our list, the Razor Off-Road LED headlights. The only place these things belong is off the road and in the trash.
